Former Louisiana judge gets 14 years for sex crimes involving daughters' teen friends

Three police officers have been placed on administrative leave after LSU wide receiver Koy Moore released a statement on social media over the weekend alleging that he was “violated” by Baton Rouge police during a search, coach Ed Orgeron said Monday.

Voters in 32 states were asked to weigh in on more than 100 statewide ballot measures on Election Day, bypassing the usual legislative process for majority-rule policies.  Hundreds of millions of dollars were poured into campaigns to sway voters for or against such measures when they showed up to elect the next president and candidates vying in other races.  Here are a few of the most closely-watched initiatives.  Voters elected whether or not to restrict abortion in Louisiana and Colorado.

Voters in Louisiana overwhelmingly approved a constitutional amendment on Tuesday that clarified the document does not grant the right to an abortion in the state.  The abortion measure, Amendment 1, was touted as a way to ensure state residents would clearly be on the record opposing the procedure in the event the Supreme Court was to overturn the landmark Roe V. Wade decision.

Lingering power outages in Louisiana from Hurricane Zeta sparked an argument on Sunday between the Democratic mayor of New Orleans and the Republican secretary of state over who is providing generators for polling places still without electricity on Election Day.  As of Monday morning, over 65,000 Entergy Louisiana customers remain without power in the southeastern corner of the state, including in the New Orleans metropolitan area.

Tens of thousands of people remain without power in Louisiana after Hurricane Delta delivered another blow to the region, spurring officials to once again warn about generator safety after a deadly fire. The Louisiana Department of Health said there have been two deaths tied to Delta in the state, including an 86-year-old man in St.

An 11-year-old Louisiana boy was taken into custody by police on Sunday, after stealing a school bus and leading officers on a chase, which ended in a crash.  Around 11:30 a.m., the bus hit a gas line and then a tree before authorities surrounded it to take the boy away, according to WBRZ in Baton Rouge. Police said the bus had no keys in the ignition and only required a push-to-start button.
