West Ham footballer Kurt Zouma has been sentenced to 180 hours of community service and has been banned from owning and keeping a cat for five years after pleading guilty to kicking and slapping his pet cat.The 27 year old arrived at Thames Magistrates' Court on Wednesday 1 June to hear the verdict from Judge Susan Holdham. His brother Yoan Zouma had posted the video on his Snapchat, which had 80 followers, and only five accounts viewed it before it was deleted minutes after being posted.
Yoan has been sentenced to 140 hours of community service after facing a charge of "aiding, abetting, counselling or procuring Kurt Zouma to commit the offence". On that date in February you did not provide for its needs.” The judge added that both men showed "genuine remorse" for their actions. Kurt was charged with three offences under the Animal Welfare Act for harming his cat – which he pleaded guilty to.
In February, the defender was filmed slapping and kicking his pet cat in a video. He is accused of two counts of causing unnecessary suffering to a protected animal and one count of breaching animal welfare duty.
