Emmerdale's Wendy Posner is set for a passionate week as the actress who plays her opens up about the consequences facing her character. Susan Cookson has given viewers a preview into the fallout that will take place after she gives into temptation and gets passionate with colleague Liam Cavanagh in episodes set to air in the next few days.
It happens after Wendy seeks comfort in Liam after they both get drunk and one thing leads to another, and they end up sleeping together. But that will leave fans wondering what that means for Wendy's relationship with Bob Hope.
Speaking to The Mirror and other press, Susan revealed the pair's dalliance may have always been on the cards, following Liam's split from wife Leyla Harding. Susan added: "They're work colleagues, they get on, there's a mutual respect as colleagues but I realised the other day, there is a little bit more to Wendy and Liam.
"He knows about her past with the husband and the drug problem and she went to prison for a year because of her husband.
"There always seems to be confusion with the public that Wendy isn't a qualified nurse but she is, but she qualified under a different name and it was when Russ turned up and she tried to do right thing and hand her notice in, and she told Liam and he said her secret was safe with him. So
