It’s no mean feat surviving for two decades on the same soap, but for Emmerdale star Elizabeth Estensen the time has come for her to announce her retirement.
Elizabeth has played Diane Sugden in the Yorkshire village since 1999 and been the landlady of The Woolpack pub for 17 years.
The 72-year-old actress shared a touching tribute to her co-stars as she announced the news of her exit, adding that Emmerdale will ‘always remain special to me’.
