Former Emmerdale star Adam Thomas has given an update on his battle with arthritis in a candid new post on Instagram. The 35 year old TV star, who appeared on Strictly Come Dancing in 2023, was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis, just months before the show started in September. On Monday, 5 February, he shared a number of snaps to Instagram as he visited hospital with his wife, Caroline Daly.
In the first photo, Adam and Caroline could be seen smiling as he enjoyed a coffee in the hospital waiting room. He could then be seen sitting in a hospital chair as a nurse administered steroid injections as he put a thumbs up to the camera and beamed. In the caption, Adam wrote: "Little update on my arthritis journey so far… "So been In and out of hospital for a while now, tried all sorts of medications and painkillers.
But nothings really working, so time to try something new.
Today i had steroid injections, which really helped ease the pain and inflammation last time, so hopefully it will do the same, until my prescription arrives for the new medication. "I will be trying a disease modifying drug which I will then take (if it works)for the rest of my life or until I go into remission. It’s been a long and hard battle and as of yet nothing has worked, but I’m hopeful! I’ve suffered just over a year with arthritis and I have to say it’s been the toughest period of my life to date.
