Emmerdale is set for dramatic scenes later this year as the Dingle family face "life-changing" decisions with major "repercussions" for the entire village.Teasing what viewers can expect from the hit ITV soap in 2022, producer Laura Shaw revealed that the Dingles will be at the heart of the "biggest stories" that will even go into 2023. So far, the family has already had a dramatic start to the New Year with Aaron Dingle leaving, his little sister Liv Flaherty wrongly arrested for Ben Tucker's murder and Vinny Dingle escaping from village murderer Meena Jutla - to list a few.

Laura said of Emmerdale's 2022 plans: "Two of our most loved Dingles are going to be facing huge life-changing situations that are going to have repercussions for the whole village, and the effects of this are going to be long-lasting over the course of 2022 and into 2023. "In the next few months, we’ll see drama, joy, fun, laughter, agony, pain, grief and despair hit this family.They will pulled into a lot of directions and be at the heart of our very biggest stories this year." It comes after Executive Producers Jane Hudson and Laura Shaw spoke to OK! and other press outlets at a recent event about Meena's "judgement day".
