A guest staying at a plush Scots hotel was left disgusted after finding an 'army of ants' crawling around his room.
David Maison, 44, was visiting Edinburgh for a birthday night away with his partner and decided to check into the four-star Malmaison Hotel in Leith. After forking out £223 for his stay, he woke up on Sunday to find a bug in the bathroom.
He then noticed several more before picking up his towel to find 'dozens' of ants. It's believed the insects appeared from a crack in the tiles.
David told Edinburgh Live: "It certainly didn't ease us into the day looking down at the floor and seeing ants everywhere - it was really grim.
"We went out for the night on Saturday and it wasn't until the morning I noticed what I thought was a fly on the floor and I then saw a second one around towels and clothes then I picked them up and there was just a swarm of them.
"They were all over the tiles. It looked like they were coming from under the bath. It was pretty gross and when you're coming back from a night out, trying to pack up and check out you don't want to be stepping around ants and making sure there's none in your clothes."
