Rachel Stevens is set to make her return to the Dancing On Ice rink after recovering from her wrist injury. Earlier this week, the former S Club 7 star revealed she had to pull out of skating on the show this Sunday (January 23) after she fractured her wrist following a fall on the ice. However, it appears that the 43 year old has made a quick recovery as she was seen back in rehearsals with her skating partner Brendyn Hadfield, 36, on Saturday.
"I'm so happy to be back on the ice," Rachel, who initially planned to return to the show for week three, confirmed. The singer added to The Sun: "Brendyn asked if I was nervous, but I'm more excited than nervous. "He has created a wonderful routine, and I can't wait to perform at last." Rachel had been following expert medical advice and took a break from the rigorous training and the skating competition as her injury healed.
A spokesperson for Dancing on Ice explained at the time: "Due to an injury sustained in training and on the expert advice from the Dancing on Ice medical professionals, Rachel Stevens will not skate in this Sunday's show." They assured DOI fans that Rachel would be back on the ice to compete in week three of the competition, which takes place on Sunday, 30 January. Rachel recently told OK! that she'd suffered the injury at the end of last year. She said: "It was a couple of weeks before Christmas.
I wasn't actually with Brendyn at the time, I was with my coach. "I fell quite a few times, obviously as you do when you try to push yourself. So I just fell, and it hurt.
