South Korea's president has put the country on its highest alert for infectious diseases, and said officials should take "unprecedented, powerful" steps to fight the viral outbreak.
President Moon Jae-in said the Covid-19 outbreak has reached a "crucial watershed" and that the "next few days will be a very important critical moment".
He made the comments at the start of a government meeting as authorities reported 123 more cases on Sunday, raising the total to 556 with five deaths.

K-pop group BTS have canceled four concerts in South Korea due to the recent outbreak of coronavirus. According to a statement from the band’s representatives Big Hit Entertainment, the virus has “made it impossible at this time to predict the scale of the outbreak” during BTS’ slate of concerts in Seoul, which were originally scheduled for April 11, 12, 18, and 19. The dates were meant to kick off the group’s global Map of the Soul Tour.

The South Korean band, who is making a comeback after their short hiatus with Map of the Soul: 7, was all set to set the stage on fire as part of their tour. However, the Bangtan Boys have decided to go against performing in South Korea following the scare of the deadly virus.
