If, like us, you spent 2020 obsessing over Normal People, then you'll be hooked on Conversations With Friends, coming to BBC Three later this month.The new series – based on the novel of the same name – was also written by Normal People's author Sally Rooney and directed by Lenny Abrahamson, and follows the story of students Frances and Bobbi, ex-girlfriends who become entangled in the relationship of an older couple. With the novel winning Sally a Young Writer of the Year award, Conversations With Friends is sure to keep viewers gripped over the coming weeks.
And with a starring role from none other than Taylor Swift's boyfriend Joe Alwyn, here's why we can't wait to sit down and watch it this May. The Plot The show will centre around Frances and her best friend and ex-girlfriend Bobbi, who are college students in Dublin.
As the pair are performing spoken-word poetry, they are noticed by Melissa – a photographer in her early thirties. Melissa decides to invite the teenagers back to the home she shares with her actor husband Nick, with their lives becoming more and more entwined as Frances begins an affair with Nick, while Bobbi and Melissa also grow close.
The Stars Newcomer Alison Oliver, 23, will play Frances in the drama, already cementing herself within the Sally Rooney universe as she counts Normal People stars Paul Mescal and Daisy Edgar-Jones as friends. Her boyfriend, Eanna Hardwicke, also played Rob in the drama.
Sasha Lane, 26, who is best known for playing Hunter C-20 in the Disney+ series Loki, will star opposite her as Bobbi.
