Amber Dowling Awards season continues its strong comeback as the Critics Choice Awards took over Twitter on Variety’s Trending TV chart for the week of March 7 to 14. The Sunday night show, which was originally supposed to air in January, but was delayed amid the spread of the COVID-19 variant omicron, earned nearly 1.5 million engagements during its three-hour broadcast on The CW and TBS.The show was co-hosted by Taye Diggs and Nicole Byers, and marked the continued return to in-person award shows following the Feb.

Jane Campion, 67, caused quite a stir when she brought up Serena, 40, and Venus Williams, 41, in her acceptance speech at the 2022 Critics Choice Awards. After the Power of the Dog filmmaker won ‘Best Director’ for her Netflix movie on March 13, Jane gave a lengthy speech during which she initially praised the Williams sisters. “What an honor to be in the room with you,” Jane said about the tennis superstars, before joking that she’s taken up the sport but stopped due to “tennis elbow.”

Venus and Serena Williams came to shine at the 2022 Critics Choice Awards Sunday.The sisters stepped out in silver for the 27th annual awards show, where , the biopic which details their father's journey as he raises his daughters into tennis icons, was nominated for six awards.Venus wore a Versace gown with a plunging neckline and waist-high slits. Venus's outfit included a pair of shimmering bike shorts that were draped by the slits of the dress. The tennis star paired the look with a pair of platform heels. Venus kept the rest of her look simple, wearing her hair down, long and straight.

The 27th annual Critics Choice Awards will be an international affair this Sunday, with celebrations planned in both London and Los Angeles. The event, hosted by Taye Diggs and Nicole Byer, will be broadcast live in the U.S. on The CW and TBS from 7-10 p.m. ET. The show will be delayed on most of the West Coast, except in Los Angeles, where KTLA will offer the show live at 4 p.m. PT. Also on DirecTV, TBS is simulcasting the event with the CW at 4 p.m. PT coast-to-coast.

Gigi Hadid and Bella Hadid are putting their 2022 Fashion Show earnings to great use, donating and providing aid to Ukraine and Palestine.The successful supermodels announced that they would donate to organizations that help provide refugee and medical aid to victims of the conflict, following in the footsteps of fellow Argentinian model Mica Argañaraz.Gigi wrote, “I am pledging to donate my earnings from the Fall 2022 shows to aid those suffering from the war in Ukraine, as well as continuing to support those experiencing the same in Palestine.”The Hadid sisters, who walked in multiple shows in Paris, Milan and New York, stated that they would like to “walk for something,” adding that “Our eyes and hearts must be open to all human injustice.”“We rarely have control of our work schedules and this week has really shown me the strength and perseverance of the people around me who are going through pure terror,” Bella said, declaring that she stands “alongside every person that has been affected by this war and the innocent people who’s lives have been changed forever from the hands of ‘power.’”Gigi stated, “May we all see each other as brothers and sisters, beyond politics, beyond race, beyond religion.”The two models join the list of celebrities helping to provide aid and support to Ukraine, including Hayden Panettiere, Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher, Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds, among others.Fashion designers are also taking a stand against the conflict, including Balenciaga, Giorgio Armani and Christian Siriano.

Gigi also pledged monetary support to Palestine, where there’s been ongoing conflict with Israel. Her father Mohammad Hadid is of Palestinian origin.
