Police have closed the junction of Moss Lane East and Princess Road after an incident at around 2.30am.
There are warning there could be delays into the morning.
Transport for Greater Manchester said: "Due to a police incident, the junction of Princess Road and Moss Lane East is blocked.
"Local Stagecoach Greater Manchester services may be affected in the morning."
They added: "Use an alternative route. Delays
