Prime Video has ordered a new Tomb Raider with Phoebe Waller-Bridge in the writer’s seat.Yesterday (May 14), Prime and Amazon MGM Studios announced that a new Tomb Raider series in the works with video game developer Crystal Dynamics. Waller-Bridge will write and executive produce for the series.The upcoming Tomb Raider series has yet to reveal a cast, details on its plot, or a release date.The legacy continues. Blade Runner 2049 is being produced for Amazon Prime Video, with Michelle Yeoh in one of the lead roles.The show, which will be titled Blade Runner 2099, was first announced back in 2022 and it will serve as a follow-up both to the 1982 original film and its 2017 sequel.Variety report that Yeoh, who won an Oscar for her role in Everything Everywhere All At Once, will be one of the stars of the show. She will reportedly play a character named Olwen, a replicant nearing the end of her life.No further plot details or release date information has been provided.Yeoh became the first Asian person to win the Best Actress Oscar, and the first Malaysian to win any Oscar.

The series chronicles people who have taken control of how their final days will play out.

Comic book universes can venture far from their core storylines in a bid to attract more viewers (*cough* Marvel) despite producing content that grows increasingly less relevant.  Creators expect an audience to continually binge on the newest adaptation or sequel to get the slightest morsel of a new character or narrative twist that may or may not ever materialize later on. Thankfully “The Boys” showrunner Eric Kripke is well aware of that when talking about the upcoming season of the hit series.

Manoj Bajpayee will once again portray the character of Srikant Tiwari, a middle-class Mumbai-based salaryman who is secretly an intelligence officer for the Threat Analysis and Surveillance Cell (TASC), a wing of India’s National Investigation Agency. In Season 3, Tiwari will confront a looming threat to national security, while balancing the demands of family life and desperately working to mend his relationship with his wife.
