Baby Reindeer, has said that she was “not doing an impersonation of a real person” in the show. The Netflix series, which has been a major hit, claims to tell the “true story” of struggling comedian Donny Dunn (played by the show’s writer/creator Richard Gadd, upon whose experiences the events are based), who is stalked maliciously by a woman named Martha.Fiona Harvey is widely believed to be the woman upon whom the Martha character was based, and she appeared on Piers Morgan Uncensored earlier this month (May 9), her first television interview since the show aired. In the interview, which has been viewed over 10 million times, Harvey denied many aspects of the show’s narrative, saying that she did not stalk Gadd, attack his girlfriend, destroy the bar he worked in or contact his parents. She also strongly denied being convicted of any charges, which is the fate that befalls Martha in the show. But Gunning has said that she is not engaging with the real-world controversy surrounding the show.
