Britain's Got Talent hosts Ant and Dec have admitted that the ITV show's return was "emotional" after a year away due to the coronavirus pandemic.The hit talent show is back for a new series, which premieres on Saturday 16 April at 8pm on ITV, with Amanda Holden, Simon Cowell, David Walliams, Alesha Dixon and Ant and Dec reunited once again.Talking about being reunited with their co-stars and the return of Britain's Got Talent after a year away, Ant McPartlin, 46, said: "We missed the wonderful people that we get through those theatre doors. "I missed the audience in the auditorium.That was big, because we'd done the auditions before we'd done Saturday Night Takeaway, so it was our first proper live audience for a while. It was quite emotional." Ant and Dec were forced to halt Saturday Night Takeaway as viewers noticed several technical issues hitting the family entertainment show. The much-loved ITV show returned to ITV tonight (March 26) after being pulled last week for the Six Nations rugby.
And fans were 'tickled' as it featured a number of blunders including cutting to the wrong family home when showing the Happiest Minute of the Week segment. In this segment the hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly celebrate people who have done extraordinary things and give away free holidays.
Viewers also saw tennis balls going 'AWOL' in the studio and the hosts were playing a game of Read My Lips with guest announcer Anna Maxwell Martin when they were forced to halt the show and re-start the game.

The game featured members of the public reading out a list of famous TV shows via a video link to the Line of Duty star in the studio, wearing headphones so she couldn't hear them. When the third player came on, instead of TV shows such as Anna's Line of Duty, she mouthed the names of foods including nachos and biriyani.
The two presenters stepped in and called for her to stop and it was explained that she had been given the wrong list.
During the Happiest Minute of the Week the camera cut to the wrong household. The mix-up saw a family looked baffled and not celebrating before cutting to another living room where the family jumping up and down with excitement.
Dec said: "In Lancashire, we're coming to you - Robert and Donna Rowland! Hi Robert and Donna."
