Residents on a 'sleepy' Altrincham street have spoken of their sadness after a teenager died in a hit and run incident.
The 18-year-old man was found in Booth Road with 'serious injuries' at around 5am on Saturday (August 12). He later died at the scene.
A forensics tent was put in place on the street while the roads around it - including part of the A56 at Dunham Road - were cordoned off for several hours. Some residents of these roads said they were woken up by the sound of sirens in the early hours of the morning.

Another resident who lives on the edge of the police perimeter heard a 'kerfuffle', but near the town centre, such 'noise' is not unusual. Some passersby described the surrounding streets as 'sleepy', while one expressed her surprise at the presence of the police scene.
But several people who live nearby spoke of 'racers' often coming out at night on the residential roads where the incident occurred. Several roads around the town centre have recently been upgraded with a one-way system put in place on part of Regent Road.
One local resident, who did not reveal her name, said this change - which is part of wider public realm improvements in the town centre - has made a difference. "But you will get the odd lunatic at night time, flying," she said. "Somebody's going to get injured one of these days."
Although the residential roads behind Booth Road are usually quiet, the A56 is 'always busy', according to residents. The closure of this route on a Saturday morning was said to have caused 'chaos' on the roads of Altrincham where traffic queued on surrounding streets.
