A new ‘Terminator’ anime series is coming to Netflix

Nickelodeon last month announced the launch of Avatar Studios, a division designed to create original Avatar: The Last Airbender content spanning animated series and movies set in the franchise’s world. The first project of the studio, led by the original series’ creators Michael DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko, is an animated theatrical film that is set to start production later this year.

Jamie Foxx is heading to Netflix with an all-new series, “Dad Stop Embarrassing Me!”.

After two great films, and four bad to mediocre ones, It’s clear the “Terminator” franchise has ground to a halt in live-action following, Tim Miller’s underwhelming “Terminator: Dark Fate.” But given the premium place spent on time-spent as a metric in streaming, Hollywood’s found a lot of success in animation and anime, and thus another way to keep I.P. content churn churning.

Netflix has partnered with Skydance on the series, with Skydance having produced the last two “Terminator” films.
