EXCLUSIVE: Real Estate mogul Doval Bacall is set to finance producer Steven Schneider’s next feature film Boyfriend as his first significant entertainment deal.

Katcy Stephan Brandon Routh and Mena Suvari will lead the cast of Grammy-winning director Joseph Kahn‘s next film, “Ick.” The film aims to evoke the timeless creature features of the 1980s with an ambitious arsenal of scares and comedy. Routh (“Superman Returns,” “Scott Pilgrim”) stars as Hank, a high school science teacher who still pines for his childhood sweetheart, played by Suvari (“American Beauty,” “American Pie”). While discovering he may have a teenage daughter, portrayed by Malina Weissman (“Lemony Snicket’s Series of Unfortunate Events”), Hank must grapple with a terrifying alien anomaly (the titular “Ick”) invading their small town.

AGC International has nabbed international rights to Late Night With The Devil from Aussie filmmaking duo Colin and Cameron Cairnes and will launch sales at the upcoming American Film Market. 

Leo Barraclough International Features Editor AGC International, the international sales and distribution arm of Stuart Ford’s AGC Studios, will launch sales on the supernatural thriller “Late Night With the Devil” at the American Film Market in Santa Monica on Halloween. The film, a nightmarishly entertaining ode to the talk shows and horror movies of the 1970s, won the best screenplay prize at Sitges Film Festival.

Mollner set to premiere at this week’s Fantastic Fest. Described as “one day in the twisted love life of a serial killer,” the project stars Willa Fitzgerald (Amazon’s “Reacher”) and Kyle Gallner (“Smile,” “Scream”).

Naman Ramachandran Prolific genre producer Steven Schneider of Room 101, Inc. and Spooky Pictures, is teaming with Malkier Studios on a slate of horror films. Schneider’s credits include “Paranormal Activity,” “Blair Witch,” and M. Night Shyamalan’s “Old.” Producing alongside Schneider will be D.C. Cassidy, Michael Fisk and Julia Wang Zhu under the newly formed Malkier Studios production company that will focus on creating IP driven horror, animation and thriller content. First up under the collaboration is “Janus,” written by Nate Atkins (“Blood-Red Ox”) and Jason Zada (“The Forest,” “Take this Lollipop”) with Zada also directing. It will follow three band members seeking refuge in an old farmhouse where they encounter a woman harboring an unspeakable secret. Schneider and Joe Heath will produce alongside Guns N’ Roses guitarist Slash, who will bring his musical expertise and oversight to the film. The cast includes Alex Neustaedter (“American Rust”), Natalie Alyn Lind (“Big Sky”), Jack Kilmer (“Lords of Chaos”) and Grace Van Dien (“Stranger Things”), along with M.C. Gainey (“Emperor”). Filming will commence later this year in Puerto Rico.

McKinley Franklin editor It looks like some demons are harder to get rid of than others.  The first official trailer for the fifth installment of the mainstay horror franchise “Insidious” reveals a new demonic side of the jinxed Lambert family. “Insidious: The Red Door” picks up 10 years after “Insidious: Chapter 2,” showcasing some familiar faces from its predecessors. At the end of the second movie, it seems as though the Lambert family has shed their satanic visions. Fast forward to the modern day, Josh (Patrick Wilson) and Dalton Lambert (Ty Simpkins) are back to face a new set of problems — like Dalton’s first year at college and a fresh group of nightmarish monsters.

Peacock has set its premiere date for the Uni horror-thriller Knock at the Cabin, marking the 15th feature effort from iconic genre filmmaker M. Night Shyamalan. The film based on Paul Tremblay’s 2018 book The Cabin at the End of the World will stream exclusively on the platform beginning March 24th.

While vacationing at a remote cabin, a young girl and her parents are taken hostage by four armed strangers who demand that the family make an unthinkable choice to avert the apocalypse. With limited access to the outside world, the family must decide what they believe before all is lost. “Knock at the Cabin” stars Dave Bautista (“Dune,” Guardians of the Galaxy franchise), Tony award and Emmy nominee Jonathan Groff (“Hamilton,” “Mindhunter”), Ben Aldridge (“Fleabag”), BAFTA nominee Nikki Amuka-Bird (“Persuasion,” “Old”), newcomer Kristen Cui, Abby Quinn (“Little Women”) and Rupert Grint (Harry Potter franchise).

EXCLUSIVE: Screen Gems and Stage 6 Films are set to start production on Insidious 5, the latest installment in the hit horror series with Sinclair Daniel, Peter Dager, and Hiam Abbass joining returning cast members that include Patrick Wilson, Rose Byrne and Ty Simpkins. Wilson will direct the film, marking his directorial debut.

“Insidious 5” finally has a release date. The hit horror franchise will make its way back into theaters on July 7, 2023 — five years after the previous installment, “Insidious: The Last Key,” debuted in Jan.

The exact date has not been set yet.Chloe Okuno directed “Watcher,” a suspenseful story about a young woman who moves into a new apartment with her fiancé gets the creepy sense that she’s being observed.

EXCLUSIVE: After working with big-name directors like Denis Villeneuve and Rian Johnson, Dave Bautista has found his next A-list director to work as the Dune actor is in negotiations to star in M. Night Shyamalan’s new top secret pic Knock at the Cabin. Shyamalan will write and direct. Shyamalan will also produce with Ashwin Rajan under the filmmaker’s Blinding Edge Pictures banner alongside Marc Bienstock and Steven Schneider.

The big Paramount studio, through Paramount Players, will be delivering three-to-four feature titles a year to streaming service Paramount+.

Deadline has confirmed that the next Paranormal Activity movie will be directed by Underwater director William Eubank and written by Happy Death Day filmmaker and Paranormal Activity scribe Christopher Landon. He wrote installments two through four.

Angelique Jackson Will Eubank and Chrisotpher Landon are teaming up to direct a new “Paranormal Activity” film for Paramount Players, set for release on March 4, 2022.Eubank will direct the project, described as a “new, unexpected retooling” of the highly lucrative franchise.
