Russell T Davies’ Channel 4/HBO Max drama It’s a Sin scooped the coveted Best Drama and Best Writer prizes at this year’s Broadcasting Press Guild (BPG) Awards, while the BBC/Amazon’s A Very British Scandal took home Best Drama Mini-Series and Best Actress for Claire Foy.

Davies won best writer. “A Very British Scandal” was voted best drama mini-series and its star Claire Foy won best actress.Stephen Graham won best actor for his performances in Channel 4’s “Help” and BBC’s “Time.” Peter Jackson’s Disney Plus series “The Beatles: Get Back” was voted best documentary mini-series.

Naman Ramachandran The BBC has renewed four of its top rated dramas – “The Tourist,” “The Responder,” “Vigil” and “Time.”Thriller “The Tourist,” starring Jamie Dornan and Shalom Brune-Franklin, is the highest-rating drama of 2022 so far, having launched with 12 million viewers and all six episodes were the most-watched episodes on BBC iPlayer in January. The second biggest new drama of 2022 so far is crime thriller “The Responder,” starring Martin Freeman, which launched with some 10 million viewers across 30 days.

Boiling Point star Ray Panthaki has revealed that co-star Stephen Graham helped the cast get into the zone by playing Eminem‘s ‘Lose Yourself’ on set.The intense film is set in a restaurant kitchen and is shot in one-take, focusing on Graham’s head chef and the team around him.Panthaki, who plays chef Freeman, opened up exclusively to NME at last night’s (March 13) BAFTAs about his fond memories on set, recalling how his co-star helped his fellow cast members get hyped up.“Stephen Graham [pumped] us all up by playing Eminem[‘s ‘Lose Yourself’] before we did the take… getting us all pumped up, ready to do it,” he revealed.“I just remember that ‘Lose Yourself’ moment – someone’s caught it on video somewhere. With the sixth and final season of period gangster epic Peaky Blinders currently enjoying a strong run in the UK, Netflix has set the premiere date for the rest of the world. All six episodes of Season 6 will launch on the streaming service at 12:01AM on June 10 in the U.S. and all markets where Netflix has the show’s rights.

The highly-anticipated Season 6 premiere of period gangster epic Peaky Blinders was watched by 3.8 million viewers in the UK on Sunday, according to overnight figures. That makes it the biggest launch for the Shelby clan ever, coming in above the Season 5 debut’s 3.7 million overnight average. It also ties the series record previously set by the Season 5 finale in September 2019. The market share was 21.8% on Sunday with a peak of 4.1 million viewers. The episode faced strong competition from the season finale of ITV drama Trigger Point which ended up winning the 9pm slot.

BBC One has set the premiere date for the sixth and final season of Peaky Blinders with the award-winning period gangster saga set to return on February 27 at 9pm in the UK. The date was made official this morning in Birmingham, home to the fictional Shelby clan, via a 42-foot high mural looming over Digbeth’s Old Crown (see it in full below).
