K.J. Yossman Victoria Asare-Archer has been tapped to adapt C.M. Ewan’s “The House Hunt” for Sony Pictures Television-backed Eleventh Hour Films.

Despite being released during the pandemic in 2021, “Spider-Man: Now Way Home” became the most successful ‘Spider-Man’ installment of all time at the box office, earning a whopping $1.9 billion for Sony Pictures. So, putting “Spider-Man 4” into production is clearly one of the studio’s biggest priorities, along with getting Tom Holland,  Zendaya, and Jacob Batalon back into their key roles.

Coming off the massive critical success of “Killers of The Flower Moon,” Martin Scorsese is reexamining his next potential options. While it briefly seemed like Scorsese’s next movie would be an adaptation of the high seas pic “The Wager” with current muse Leonardo DiCaprio (“The Wolf of Wall Street”) attached to star, a long-developing project from years ago seems to have circled back to his main interest.

A year ago, trades announced that Oscar-nominee Austin Butler (“Dune: Part Two“) would be leading a feature film adaptation of the famous Don Winslow crime saga novel “City On Fire” (No, not the similarly-titled Chow Yun-Fat movie that inspired Quentin Tarantino‘s “Reservoir Dogs“). A potential franchise starter for Sony, the crimed dra awould explore two criminal empires, Irish and Italian syndicates, that control New England and has been compared to the scope of something on the level of “The Godfather.” It’s been a long minute since we’ve heard an update, but Deadline reports the project has landed an impressive screenwriter to tackle the script.

Writer/director S. Craig Zahler made quite the splash with his gnarly genre films “Bone Tomahawk,” “Brawl In Cellblock 99,” cementing himself as an auteur with a very particular point of view.

Prepare for “The Spider Within: A Spider-Verse Story,” a new Spider-Verse short, seemingly meant to fill the gap between Spider-Man animated movies. Last June, Sony Pictures Animation released the box-office smash “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse,” a sequel to the beloved Academy Award-winning “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.” The second film in the series earned an impressive $690.9 million at the global box office against a budget of $100-150 million, nearly an 80% increase of what its predecessor earned.

Sydney Sweeney has opened up more about starring in Sony Pictures‘ Madame Web, which she has described as a “strategic business decision”.Speaking to GQ UK recently, Sweeney responded to the film’s negative reception and co-star Dakota Johnson‘s comments about the film’s production and flop at the box office. Madame Web star Dakota Johnson has spoken about her experience making the film, which is something she says she’ll “never” do again.Speaking to Bustle recently, Johnson shared that she’s “not surprised” at the film’s negative reception. She portrays Le Ying, an unemployed woman in her thirties who still lives with her parents until one day, she meets a boxing coach (portrayed by Lei Jiayin), who just may change her life.

The film will open in the country on March 1 — two weeks after the title’s Valentine’s Day bow in North America and multiple international territories, including the Chinese-language markets of Taiwan and Hong Kong. The release marks a welcome opportunity for Sony, which, along with the other traditional studios faced difficulty in securing theatrical runs in China over recent years.

The original picture, directed by Jia Ling and released in early 2021, sees a young woman whose mother has been fatally injured in a car accident, travel back to the early 1980s where she becomes best friend to the younger version of her mother. That enables her to work on giving her mother a better life than first time around.
