With the lack of a Cannes (and a regular film festival circuit) in 2020 due to the pandemic, there were multiple reports that a lot of filmmakers were going to hold their work back until there could be a semi-normal event to premiere. Well, judging by early reports about which films might show up, it appears that Cannes 2021 could become a truly star-studded affair with some huge projects debuting at the event.

First Reformed director teased the news in a new interview with the New Yorker, saying he was planning the new project with Scorsese.When asked whether he would ever consider making a streaming project, Schrader said he already had one in the works.“Yeah. Well, Scorsese and I are planning something,” Schrader said.

Tough-guy director Paul Schrader is furious at “pussified producers” for shutting down his latest movie set after an actor tested positive for the coronavirus — saying he’d rather “die on the job.”

“First Reformed” director Paul Schrader isn’t too pleased he’s been forced to shut down production on his latest film over coronavirus concerns. The “Taxi Driver” writer slammed the current pandemic, chiding producers of his latest project for forcing a halt on production after a day player tested positive for COVID-19.
