A+E Networks executive David Bank has been promoted to Chief Financial Officer.

Television Academy chair Cris Abrego announced on Wednesday his appointees to the Television Academy Executive Committee for 2024.

Paul Buccieri In the summer of 2019 I was training hard for a half Ironman in Lake Placid, N.Y. I felt like I was ingreat shape. The last week before a big race is a time when you’re supposed to start pacing yourself and give your body more rest. But I didn’t. I pushed myself. On a weekend day in mid-August, I was riding mybike down a road I had traveled many times before. The last thing I remember is that time seemed toslow down, and then everything went dark. Later, I was told a good Samaritan stopped and found menear where I went down. There are so many “as luck would have it” moments that day. As luck would have it, a kind motorist was willing to help someone they didn’t know. A hospital was nearby, and it just happened to be having a slow day; this also allowed me to meet a doctor who, as luck would have it, referred me to another specialist without delay. I quickly learned I had a heart problem — acute coronary syndrome with 70% blocked arteries. I had to have two stents placed. I was shocked. I have always been athletic, and training has been my solace. But more than that, it was my most creative space. Now I had to not just slow down but stop. And I would have to adjust to living with cardiovascular disease. I was lucky to be alive, but it was hard to imagine what life might look like now. It was a dark period.

John, at the White House on Friday to perform at A+E and History’s “A Night When Hope and History Rhyme,” looked visibly shocked and humbled as the president addressed the thousands in the audience. “Tonight is my great honor, and I mean this sincerely, to present the National Humanities Medal to Sir Elton John,” Biden said. A White House officer elaborated on John’s contributions, saying, “The President of the United States awards this National Humanities Medal to Sir Elton John for moving our souls with his powerful voice, one of the defining songbooks of all time. An enduring icon and advocate with absolute courage, who found purpose to challenge convention, shatter stigma and advance a simple truth: that everyone deserves to be treated with dignity and respect.”

Vikings: Valhalla has swung its sword to the top of Netflix’s weekly ratings chart as the streamer has revealed how its 24-episode order will be split up.

A+E Networks has taken a minority stake in management and production firm Range Media Partners. No financial details are being disclosed but the stake is believed to be in the high teens percent and the deal in the $50 million ballpark, with Range’s valuation at around $300 million. That is a hefty valuation, especially for a company that is just a year and a half old. It is close to what one of Hollywood biggest, most established management-production companies, 3 Arts, sold for in 2018 after 27 years in the business.

She will continue to report directly to Paul Buccieri, president and chairman of A+E Networks Group.Additionally, A+E Networks has upped Steve Ascher, who was previously executive vice president of Six West Media, to oversee development for the company’s entire unscripted division, including Category 6 Media.

A+E Networks has entered into a first-look production deal with Ozy Media that includes multiple projects annually across platforms, from live events and podcasts to original series.The announcement was made by Paul Buccieri, president of A+E Networks Group, and Carlos Watson, Ozy Media co-founder and CEO.Ozy Media was founded in 2013 as a digital magazine, with capital from Silicon Valley investors including Emerson Collective as well as German publishing giant Axel Springer.
