The annual convention of movie theater owners is updating security protocols for its 2023 edition, after a shocking breach last year involving “Don’t Worry Darling” director Olivia Wilde. The filmmaker was served child custody papers on behalf of former partner Jason Sudeikis at the 2022 convention while in the middle of a presentation on stage at Caesar’s Palace. Images of Wilde opening a manila envelope slipped to her by a process server went viral on social media, an incident she would later describe as “vicious.”

Oscar-nominated actress, writer and producer Melissa McCarthy has been named as CinemaCon’s Cinema Vérité Award recipient for 2023.

Anthony Ramos and Dominique Fishback have been set to receive the Rising Stars of the Year Award at CinemaCon 2023.

Zendaya has been set as the recipient of CinemaCon 2023’s Star of the Year Award.

The stars of Joy Ride will receive at Comedy Ensemble of the Year Award at CinemaCon next month. Ashley Park, Sherry Cola, Stephanie Hsu and Sabrina Wu will be honored April 27 during the confab’s Big Screen Achievement Awards at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.

Cineworld Group Chief Commercial Officer Renana Teperberg has been set to receive CinemaCon’s Global Achievement in Exhibition Award at the event which takes place in Las Vegas next month. Teperberg will be presented with the honor at the International Day Luncheon on April 25.

CinemaCon has been canceled due to concerns surrounding the coronavirus pandemic. The annual event, which brings together Hollywood studios and movie theater owners from around the world, was set to run March 30-April 2 at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas.
