When you have acting powerhouses like Will Forte, Kristen Wiig, and Ryan Phillippe, as the upcoming Peacock series, “MacGruber,” does, then you better have some equally amazing actors to play off them. And if a new report from Variety is to believed, it appears “MacGruber” has landed an all-star supporting cast to join in the hijinks.

Everybody’s favorite foul-mouthed teddy bear, Ted, is returning, years after the last film in the franchise. But this time, “Ted” isn’t being crafted as a sequel film.

Peacock’s “MacGruber” series added three key castmembers, with Laurence Fishburne, Sam Elliott and Mickey Rourke boarding the Will Forte-led comedy. The series stars Forte as his “SNL” character-turned-action movie hero, MacGruber.

Peacock is stacking up the cast of MacGruber, the eight-episode action comedy series based on Will Forte’s recurring MacGyver parody sketch on Saturday Night Live and its 2010 cult movie offshoot.
