Ridley Scott‘s Napoleon is preparing to invade the streaming world. The Joaquin Phoenix-led historical epic from Apple Original Films will hit Apple TV+ on March 1.

Napoleon’s screenwriter, David Scarpa, has revealed that the opening scene of the movie was originally very “different”.In a recent interview with IndieWire, Scarpa has shared the creative process surrounding Ridley Scott’s new biopic, starring Joaquin Phoenix as the French Emperor, Napoleon Bonaparte.In the interview, Scarpa revealed details of Scott’s creative mind, nuances behind the film’s script and some of the challenges that faced the filmmakers.One detail upon which Scarpa opened up was regarding the film’s opening scene, which shows the execution of Marie Antoinette in 1793. In a four-star review, NME wrote that this “vivid and dramatic start sets the tone of a film that is never less than full-blooded”.However, when asked about this scene, Scarpa shared: “That’s not how we originally started it.

Tony Award-nominee Domhnall Gleeson is set to join the cast of Apple Original Films’ Echo Valley, a new dramatic feature and original screenplay by Brad Ingelsby, and starring Academy Award-winner Julianne Moore and multi-Emmy Award-nominee Sydney Sweeney. Hailing from Apple Studios, and produced by Scott Free Films and The Walsh Company, the film will be directed by BAFTA Award-winner Michael Pearce.

The historical epic from Ridley Scott (no slouch when it comes to directing lavish looks at the past and explorations of the warrior way) will open in cinemas exclusively on Nov. 22 before streaming globally on Apple TV+ on an undetermined date. Sony Pictures will partner with Apple on the theatrical rollout. “Napoleon” stars Joaquin Phoenix as the French emperor and military leader. Phoenix previously teamed with Scott on 2000’s mega-hit “Gladiator,” so there’s a track record there. But this film won’t be all Waterloo, all the time. In addition to epic battles, “Napoleon” will also look at the visionary commander’s volatile relationship with his wife, Josephine, who is played by Vanessa Kirby. Apple also released a first look image (above) from the film featuring Phoenix on horseback, saber unsheathed.

Michael Pruss has been promoted to Co-President of the film division at Scott Free Productions. Pruss will continue to report to Scott Free President, Kevin Walsh as he helps expand the company’s slate of feature films with a focus on developing new filmmakers and talent from across the globe and bringing them into the Scott Free fold.

Jeopardy! ended in a very unusual way — and even longtime host Alex Trebek was shocked.On Tuesday, October 13, the game show concluded with contestant Kevin Walsh as the last man standing in the final round. The returning champ’s fellow players Natt Supab and Alex Switzky experienced a deficit and a zero balance, respectively, earlier in the episode.Trebek, 80, even commented on the rare occurrence.

“Jeopardy!” fans witnessed a rare moment on the hit show on Tuesday.
