The BAFTA TV Awards made a welcome return to our TV screens, with dozens of stars gathering to celebrate the most prestigious awards in British television.The annual awards bash tonight, 14 May, was hosted by comedians Rob Beckett and Romesh Ranganathan and took place at The Royal Festival Hall in London. As most awards ceremonies are, the evening was filled with laughter, tears and glamorous red carpet looks, and some TV stars even walked away with two awards.

She said: “If I could break it in half, I would give the other half to my daughter Mia Threapleton, we did this together, kiddo.” As she said the words, the camera cut to her daughter, who cried as she put her hands to her mouth, blew her mother some kisses, and mouthed the words: "I love you." Kate went on to praise her daughter, Mia, as she said, honestly: "There were days when it was agony for her to dig as deeply as she did, into very frightening emotional territory, sometimes - it took my breath away." She continued: "I Am Ruth was made for parents and their children.
