Universal has released the first teaser for the Blumhouse horror film, giving viewers their first look at how the popular survival horror video game’s terrifying animatronics will be brought to life.“Five Nights at Freddy’s” is based on the video game franchise created by Scott Cawthon, which released its first entry in 2014 and quickly rocketed to massive popularity. The game sees players in various locations tied to the fictional pizza restaurant “Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza.” Throughout the different games, players are tasked with surviving the onslaught of hostile animatronic characters inside the haunted Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza restaurant, using security cameras, lights and doors to survey the area.
Like the game, the teaser introduces us to a new security guard at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria, a Chuck-E-Cheese-esque kids arcade and pizzeria with an animatronic animal band led by Freddy Fazbear. Josh Hutcherson plays Mike, the poor soul tasked with watching the pizzeria at night, not knowing that Freddy and his fellow animatronics Bonnie, Chica and Foxy have a life of their own…and a desire to kill.

Paula Ortiz (“The Bride”) directed “Across the River and Into the Trees,” which takes place in post-WWII Italy. As he faces news of illness with stoic disregard, he’s determined to spend a week in quiet solitude and commandeers a military driver to facilitate a visit to his old haunts in Venice.
