‘The Mandalorian’ Season 4 Is Already Written So That Its Story Fits Perfectly With ‘Ahsoka’ and More ‘Star Wars’ Series

Zack Sharf “The Mandalorian” is about to launch its long-awaited third season next month, but creator Jon Favreau recently confirmed to BFM TV that scrips for Season 4 are already written and waiting to be shot. Disney and Lucasfilm have not yet officially announced a fourth season. Favreau announced he wrote Season 4 scripts during Season 3 post-production, stressing that it’s essential the scripts be done so that the series can continue to fit into and anchor the larger framework of the “Star Wars” universe. There are a handful of new “Star Wars” series on the way, including the highly-anticipated “Ahsoka.” “Season 4, yeah I’ve written it already,” Favreau said. “We have to know where we’re going to tell a fully formed story. We had mapped it out, Dave [Filoni] and I, and slowly you start to write each episode. I was writing it during post-production. All of it has to feel like a continuation and one full story.”

“The Mandalorian” Season 3 arrives in a few weeks, but Season 4 of the Disney+ series has already been written. There’s the possibly apocryphal tale that Jon Favreau had already written several scripts for the breakout live-action “Star Wars” series before it was even properly greenlit for Disney+, and ever since he has worked at a furious pace, overseeing several seasons of “The Mandalorian” and much of the related output like “The Book of Boba Fett.” And in a new interview with a French outlet (which you can watch below), Favreau lets it slip that the fourth season of the ”Star Wars” series has already been written and is ready to go.“We have to know where we’re going to tell a fully formed story,” Favreau told BFM TV. “We had mapped it out, Dave [Filoni] and I, and slowly you start to write each episode.

The Man Behind ‘Mandalorian’: Jon Favreau Talks Season 3, ‘Skeleton Crew’ and His Walk of Fame Honor

Jordan Moreau At the center of the two biggest pop culture empires of this generation, the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the “Star Wars” franchise, lies one architect who helped launch them into modern greatness: Jon Favreau. Fifteen years ago, the actor-turned-filmmaker directed a film about a B-list superhero with a not-yet-bankable movie star when comic-book films were more flukes than surefire hits. That movie turned out to be “Iron Man,” starring Robert Downey Jr. (with Favreau also playing his right-hand man Happy Hogan) and, after dozens of spinoffs, theme-park rides and box office records, the rest is comic-book history. Recently, Favreau has traded his Repulsor gloves for lightsabers. He’s charting the future of “Star Wars” across several TV series, beginning with “The Mandalorian,” the flagship Disney+ show that debuted on Day 1 of the streamer. The Western-themed “Star Wars” series premieres its third season on March 1, and it’s already spawned several spinoffs and an adorable mascot with its lovable alien Grogu, akaBaby Yoda.
