Strictly Come Dancing 2022 is set to begin on Friday 23 September, with a new host of celebrities preparing to take to the dance floor. The launch show will reveal who is partnered with who, and the following evening (24 September) the first live show will air.

Great British Bake Off has officially returned to our screens as judges Prue Leith and Paul Hollywood welcomed a fresh batch of bakers into the tent. With presenters Noel Fielding and Matt Lucas on hand to sprinkle comic relief over the tent, the first week saw the contestants tasked with making 12 mini sandwich cakes for the Signature, a red velvet cake for the Technical and a cake inspired by home for their Showstoppers. Kaye Adams has been announced as the fourth contestant to join the Strictly Come Dancing line-up.The 59 year old, who was recently left "shocked" to learn she needs hearing aids in both ears, shared the news herself on the hit ITV show Loose Women on Friday 5 August. Hollyoaks star Will Mellor was the first confirmed contestant to take part in the show on Thursday morning, with Kym Marsh joining him on the line-up not long after. Earlier today, it was also revealed that BBC Radio 2 host Richie Anderson will be taking part with a male professional dancer on the show – following on from John Whaite and Johannes Radebe's pairing in 2021, which made history.

Will Mellor is set to put on his dancing shoes as he's been confirmed as the first contestant to join the Strictly Come Dancing line-up. Sharing his joy over being cast for the star-studded show, which is said to be returning in September, the Hollyoaks star said: "I'm honestly so chuffed to be taking part in Strictly Come Dancing this year! "Not going to lie, it's totally out of my comfort zone and I know it will be a huge challenge but that's what life is all about." Will added: "This is also my Mum's favourite show and she’s had a really tough few years so I’m doing this is for her as well.

Celebrity Gogglebox were left in tears after watching the coming out scene from Big Boys. Friday (1 July) night’s episode of the Channel 4 series was a Pride special and saw a group of LGBTQ+ celebrities and their loved ones tune into the week’s biggest shows. The episode closed off with the cast watching sitcom Big Boys, which is based on the life of comedian Jack Rooke (played by Dylan Llewellyn).

He will be replaced by Cameron Lombard who joined Strictly as a professional in 2021, dancing in group numbers.
