Joe Otterson TV Reporter The “Ted” series coming to Peacock has set its premiere date. The seven-episode event series, which serves as a prequel to the two “Ted” films, will debut on Peacock on Jan. 11.

According to an individual with knowledge of the situation, the fifth season of the spinoff series will consist of 12 episodes. Fox will use “Lone Star,” it’s highest-rated drama, to launch its new shows “Doc” and “Rescue: Hi-Surf,” both of which were ordered earlier this year but have yet to begin production.

It was previously announced that the iconic car would be part of the parade, though Thompson and Mitchell’s participation was not known at that time.

The show, based on characters created for DC by Neil Gaiman and Matt Wagner, was originally ordered to series at Max back in April 2022. However, it was reported earlier this year that it would be moving to Netflix due to the fact it did not fit the new direction for Max-DC content being spearheaded by James Gunn and Peter Safran.

Variety has learned exclusively that the company has acquired the rights to the books ““Jackie: Public, Private, Secret” and “Jackie, Janet and Lee,” both written by by J. Randy Taraborrelli.

Titled “Barry Manilow’s A Very Barry Christmas,” the one-hour special will air on NBC Dec. 11 at 10 pm ET/PT and will be available to stream the next day on Peacock.

Joe Otterson TV Reporter Paramount+ has released a first-look clip of the event special “South Park: Joining the Panderverse.” The opening of the clip (which can be seen below) sees Stan, Kyle, Cartman, and Kenny being played by a group of diverse women. As it turns out, the whole sequence is a nightmare of Cartman’s. His mother tries to comfort him, but he insists she check under the bed to make sure “there’s no Disney executives under there,” namely Kathleen Kennedy.

Variety has learned exclusively that Veena Sud will head up the series, which will be set in the world of the so-called Millennium novels originally written by Stieg Larsson. Variety previously reported that the series was in development in May 2020, though no showrunner was attached at that time.

Variety has confirmed that Storer and FX won the rights to the upcoming book “All the Other Mothers Hate Me” by journalist Sarah Harman in a strong bidding war said to have included more than a dozen other parties. The book is described as a satirical thriller about “an American woman who suspects her beloved son might have murdered a wealthy pupil at his West London private school,” per the description from the publisher.
