Jessie Ware has released her first single of 2022, the dance floor anthem ‘Free Yourself’.Billed as a teaser for her upcoming fifth studio album, Ware’s ‘Free Yourself’ was co-written with Coffee Clarence JR and British producer Stuart Price and comes with a message of self-empowerment. “’Free Yourself’ is the beginning of a new era for me,” Ware explains in a press release.“I’m so excited for people to have this song for the end of their summer; to dance, to feel no inhibitions and to feel joyful because that’s how I’ve been feeling recently being able to tour again and being able to sing again.

Jessie Ware's pop talents weren't exactly a secret when she first emerged. Her debut album Devotion is peppered with moments like "Sweet Talk," a glittering synth ode to puppy love still progressive by today's standards, and one of the songs that made it clear stuffing her in the "post-Sade crooner" box wasn't accurate.

A$AP Rocky has been booked to headline Poland’s Open’er Festival 2022, joining the previously announced top-billers The Killers.The rapper joins dozens of acts already announced for the festival held at Gdynia-Kosakowo airport from June 29 until July 2.Dua Lipa, Doja Cat, Imagine Dragons, Twenty One Pilots, Playboi Carti, Martin Garrix, The Chemical Brothers, Måneskin, Megan Thee Stallion, Glass Animals, Gunna, Clairo, Tove Lo, Little Simz, Jessie Ware, Royal Blood, Years And Years, The Smile and Michael Kiwanuka are all playing the festival.A$AP Rocky is the second headliner of the festival’s first night on the Wednesday (June 29) on the Orange Main Stage. Imagine Dragons also headline the first night.The Killers previously headlined the 2020 edition of the Polish festival and will close out this year’s festival on July 2.Open’er Festival is operating in solidarity with Ukraine and says it “will be a place of support for Ukrainians facing the barbaric Russian aggression of their country”.A special initiative “Wspierajmy Ukrainę na koncertach / Support Ukraine at concerts” will take place during the festival to help the actions of Polish Center For International Aid.

A second artist has been forced to pull out of this year’s Parklife festival in Heaton Park after their flight was cancelled.

Jessie Ware performed at O2 Academy Brixton last night (May 28), and during the show she brought out special guest Kylie Minogue for a performance of their duet, ‘Kiss Of Life’.The song is taken from ‘DISCO: Guest List Edition’, a deluxe version of Kylie’s 15th studio album, 2020’s ‘Disco’. Upon its release, NME‘s Nick Levine gave the album a four-star review, describing it as her “most consistent and enjoyable album in a decade”.Ware’s gig last night marked the first of two dates at O2 Brixton Academy, with the second scheduled to take place tonight (May 29).

Table Manners has won Best Podcast at the BandLab NME Awards 2022.The show, hosted by singer Jessie Ware and her mother Lennie, beat out Disgraceland, Grounded With Louis Theroux, Songs To Live By and Wheel Of Misfortune for the win.“Thank you so much,” the Wares said in a statement of their win, who praised the “amazing guests” of Table Manners for the podcast’s success.“This is the first NME award I’ve ever been up for, I’ve only had four fucking albums and it takes my 70-year-old mother,” added Jessie.Launched in 2017 and now in its 13th season, Table Manners becomes the second podcast to snag a win at the NME Awards.
