They didn’t have the experience, they didn’t have the mental capacity to take it on, because it’s not just the part they’re taking on, it’s a massive responsibility.”

New James Bond book commissioned to celebrate King Charles’ coronation

Coronation of King Charles III.“Young Bond” series author Charlie Higson has been commissioned by Ian Fleming Publications to write a new book in honor of King Charles’ coronation.“On His Majesty’s Secret Service” will be published May 4, ahead of the coronation on May 6. The publication comes 60 years after Fleming’s 10th novel, “On Her Majesty’s Secret Service,” in 1963.The new 007 story is set in the present day, following Bond as he is “sent at the last minute to thwart an attempt to disrupt the coronation by the wealthy, eccentric and self-styled Athelstan of Wessex, who is on a deadly mission of his own to teach the United Kingdom a lesson,” according to Ian Fleming Publicans.Bond has to dismantle Athelstan of Wessex’s shady plans and defeat his privately hired team of mercenaries. All royalties from the sale of the book will support the work of the UK charity, the National Literacy Trust, an independent charity that works to improve literacy levels and skills for disadvantaged children.Higson has written five books for the “Young Bond” series, which follows Bond’s time at Eton College in the 1930s.“When Ian Fleming Publications came to me with the idea of writing an adult Bond story a little more than a month ago I was thrilled – until I realized it had to be ready for the coronation in May,” Higson said in a statement.

Daisy May Cooper “in talks” to star as M in new James Bond film

James Bond film.According to The Sun, the This Country star is being eyed to bring a “comedic and quirky” edge to the role, which was previously portrayed by Ralph Fiennes and Judi Dench.A source told the publication: “Daisy is a close pal of [writer] Phoebe [Waller-Bridge], whose involvement in Bond was such a success that it sparked an unlikely conversation.“Suddenly the production team were getting excited about the prospect of really taking M in a different direction.“With Daniel [Craig] leaving, it seemed the time to start looking at changes across the board and the dynamic between Bond and M is at the heart of the films.”The source added: “So this opens the door to it being a bit lighter and more comedic going forwards – and will of course impact the direction the new 007 goes in too.”Earlier this week, Taron Egerton dismissed rumours that he could succeed Daniel Craig as the next 007, saying that he doesn’t think he’s “the right choice for it”.“You have to be consistently statuesque to be that guy. Eva Green wanted to pretend she was hospitalised to avoid filming “shitty B-movie”, court told

Eva Green wanted to pretend she was hospitalised with a rash so she could avoid filming “shitty B-Movie” The Patriot, a court has heard.Newly disclosed WhatsApp messages from the Casino Royale star brought the information to light during her ongoing legal battle with production company White Lantern, who she is suing over the collapsed sci-fi project. In a message in September 2019, she asked her agent (via The Guardian): “IF they come back to you and say they are going to go ahead with the movie, what can we say…? Could we say this situation has made me ill over the weekend? We could say I had to go to hospital as I had a serious rash all over my body?”Green then asked her agent if a doctor might help the claim, the high court in London was told. The message was referred to during closing arguments on Tuesday (March 14) by Max Mallin KC, the legal counsel for production company White Lantern Films.Mallin said Green was so concerned about having to perform in the film that she suggested her agent, Charles Collier, “invent a story about Ms Green being hospitalised”.They added that Green also “appeared to contemplate faking a broken arm” to avoid performing.Green is suing White Lantern Films and SMC Speciality finance for a $1m (£807,000) fee over the collapsed project, claiming she is still owed the payment under the terms of her “pay or play” contract.White Lantern, meanwhile, claim that Green undermined the project and walked away, causing it to collapse. On the first day of the court case, communications between Green and other individuals –including her agent – were disclosed. In them, she described the project as a “B-shitty-movie” and referred to lead producer, Jake Seal, as “evil” and “the devil”.
