If the Season 1 finale of Apple TV+’s “Silo” doesn’t send people rushing to their local hardware store to stockpile heat tape, nothing will. In the final moments of the ambitious, world-building thriller, Juliette (Rebecca Ferguson) was banished from the silo and sent out to “clean,” just as Bernard (Tim Robbins) had threatened to do, because of her attempts to broadcast the secrets on the elusive hard drive. But unlike the doomed lovers Allison (Rashida Jones) and Holston (David Oyelowo), who both died in their respective turns cleaning earlier this season, Juliette makes it beyond the ridge, thanks to the super-sealing heat tape supplied by Walker (Harriet Walter). Who knew all that talk about Juliette stealing the heat tape would be the lynchpin to the whole story?

Most true crime documentaries and podcasts reach the inevitable moment when the killer makes a mistake and the authorities come calling. The season finale of Peacock’s new comedy “Based on a True Story” may have just arrived at that moment. All season, Ava (Kaley Cuoco) and Nathan (Chris Messina) have been pulled into a comedy of complicity of their own making after they partner with part-time plumber, part-time serial killer Matt (Tom Bateman) to document his Westside Ripper crimes for a podcast called “Based on a True Story.” But in the finale, he indoctrinates them into his world by killing their friend Ruby (Priscilla Quintana), and dumping her body on the doorstep of their newly leased beachfront dreamhouse for them to clean up.

Season 2 of HBO’s slice-of-life dramedy “Somebody Somewhere” has, up to this point, put its platonic love story between Sam and Joel in a slowly ascendant bubble, according to star Bridget Everett. But in Sunday’s fifth episode, the bubble burst. After a season and a half spent piecing her life and relationships back together, Sam (Everett) slides back into isolating old habits after being confronted with back-to-back revelations. “We don’t move at a very fast clip on this show, so it kind of takes awhile to rev up to this moment and what is going to be a big fallout for Sam and the people around her,” Everett tells Variety.

Hulu’s “Tiny Beautiful Things” ends on a serene note, with a hospital bed in the middle of a horse pasture and a single spoken word: “love.” The moment is one of the few shared between Kathryn Hahn and Merritt Wever in the limited series, which is based on author Cheryl Strayed’s life and her time writing an advice column called “Dear Sugar.” Wever plays Frankie, the free-spirited mother of Hahn’s character Clare, who (like Strayed’s mother) dies suddenly of lung cancer at the age of 45. The story primarily takes place in the present day as a grown-up Clare (played by Hahn) grapples with the trauma of having lost her mother, while Wever’s character exists in flashbacks to the 1990s when Clare was in her 20s and played by Sarah Pidgeon.
