Jennifer Maas TV Business WriterCBS is restructuring its business affairs operations to expand the duties of Allison Brightman and Jeeun Kim, who currently serve as the executive vice president co-heads of the unit for CBS Entertainment and CBS Studios, to include CBS Sports, CBS News & Stations and CBS Media ventures, Variety has learned.This will put Brightman and Kim in charge of business affairs across all CBS brands, creating a more centralized leadership structure for the company while all of its divisional teams remain in place.The duo’s new shared title is executive vice president and co-heads of business affairs at CBS. with both reporting directly to president and CEO George Cheeks.

As the new EVP and co-heads of business affairs for CBS, Brightman will focus on CBS Studios and CBS Media Ventures while Kim will oversee CBS Entertainment, CBS Sports and CBS News & Stations.

Manori Ravindran International Editor“NCIS” is heading down under.The long-running CBS franchise is being adapted for Paramount Plus Australia and broadcaster Network 10 in a deal that marks the first international edition for the CBS Studios-produced juggernaut.“NCIS: Sydney” will launch in 2023 and feature local stories with Aussie actors and producers. “NCIS: Los Angeles” creator Shane Brennan, who is Australian and first joined the franchise back in 2007, is attached.The commission is a clever way for Paramount Plus to bulk up its local offering in Australia, where the service launched in August 2021 and already takes advantage of content from the ViacomCBS-backed local linear offering, Channel 10.Paramount Plus is slowly expanding internationally and will finally launch in Europe this year.
A new “SEAL Team” movie, based on the hit CBS show, will be produced for the Paramount+ streaming service in the U.S., George Cheeks, president and CEO of CBS and chief content officer for news and sports at Paramount+, announced on Tuesday.The movie will come from the series creative team of David Boreanaz, Christopher Chulack and Spencer Hudnut.“Seal Team” is a military drama that follows the professional and personal lives of the most elite unit of Navy SEALs as they train, plan and execute the most dangerous, high-stakes missions. It stars Boreanaz as Jason Hayes, the leader of the Tier One team.
Just days after SEAL Team was renewed for Season 6 by Paramount+, the military drama also has received an order for a stand-alone movie from the streamer. Additionally, NCIS: Sydney, an offshoot from the venerable crime drama franchise, has been commissioned by Paramount+ Australia and the country’s ViacomCBS-owned Network 10. The projects, announced during the ViacomCBS Investor presentation, come from CBS Studios which is tapping into the studio’s IP to expand two of its current series/franchises.
