The dramatic first trailer for the upcoming movie Mass has been released.

Ethan Shanfeld Bleecker Street has released a trailer for “Mass,” which will be in limited released in theaters in Los Angeles and New York City on Oct.

The 2021 San Sebastian Film Festival (September 17-25) has revealed the 13 features that will compete in its New Directors showcase.

Elsa Keslassy International CorrespondentKinology, the Paris-based banner behind Leos Carax’s Cannes opener “Annette,” has come on board to handle international sales rights for “Mass,” Fran Kranz’s searing chamber drama that earned unanimous praise at the Sundance Film Festival.“Mass,” which world premiered in competition at Sundance, marks Kranz’s screenwriting and directorial debut. The popular actor also produced the pic alongside Casey Wilder Mott, J.P.

Bleecker Street has acquired U.S. rights to Fran Kranz’ Mass, which made its world premiere at Sundance back in January. A fourth quarter theatrical release is currently planned.

Fran Kranz’s “Mass” is likely one of the most emotionally pulverizing films ever made about America’s gun-violence epidemic – but across its 110-minute runtime, not a single shot is fired.

Debuting writer-director Fran Kranz's years as an actor show in the powerful performances he draws from his tight ensemble in Mass, a drama of searing intimacy that trades the political for the personal in its reflections on gun violence and mental health. It’s hard to say if the excoriating debut film written, produced, and directed by Fran Kranz, in being an extraordinarily depressing chamber piece dealing with the long-after fallout of a school shooting, is the last film we should have expected from the wacky “Dollhouse,” and “Cabin in the Woods” alum, or exactly the film he was always going to make, setting out his stall as a filmmaker of serious intent, to be taken seriously.

In a highly impressive and explosive feature screenwriting and directing debut, Fran Kranz has crafted Mass as a highly intense, involving, moving and thought-provoking chamber piece of a film that explores the way two different sets of parents deal with the emotional aftermath of a school shooting, years after it occurred.
