Logan Lerman will star alongside Joey King in Hulu’s developing limited series “We Were the Lucky Ones,” based on Georgia Hunter’s best-selling novel, TheWrap has learned.Lerman will portray Addy, a Polish and Jewish 25-year-old who lives in Paris as an engineer, but who also builds his musical composing career. Addy is the middle child in his family, and he is able to mediate conflict between people with differences.
Selome Hailu Logan Lerman has been cast in “We Were the Lucky Ones,” Hulu’s upcoming limited series based on Georgia Hunter’s novel of the same name. Inspired by a true story, the series follows a Polish Jewish family that is separated by World War II and determined to survive and reunite. Lerman plays Addy, the middle child, who is 25 years old at the start of the war. He is an adventurer who lives in Paris as an engineer while also enjoying budding success as a music composer, and has an ability to find common ground with dissimilar people and a talent to fix anything. Addy’s character is inspired by Hunter’s grandfather, who was a young man in the late 1930s. Lerman is best known for leading the “Percy Jackson” films as well as “The Perks of Being a Wallflower” with additional credits including “The Butterfly Effect,” “Hoot,” “3:10 to Yuma” and “Indignation.” Most recently, he has appeared in the film “Bullet Train” and Amazon Prime Video series “Hunters.” He is represented by WME, Brillstein Entertainment Partners and attorney Bob Wallerstein.

The series is inspired by the life of Julia Child and her long-running cooking show “The French Chef.” The first season debuted in March 2022 and the show was renewed in May. Bloom will appear in a recurring role as Elaine Levitch. The character is described as “a dynamo who comes to WGBH by way of CBS to work with Julia on ‘The French Chef.'” Bloom will next be seen in the Steve Levitan Hulu comedy series “Reboot,” which premieres Sept. 20. She is best known for her work on the CW musical dramedy series “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend,” which she co-created and executive produced in addition to starring. She received five Emmy nominations and two Golden Globe nominations for her work on the series, winning one of each. Her recent credits include the Disney+ film “Chip ‘N’ Dalel: Rescue Rangers” and the upcoming Netflix film “The School for Good and Evil.” She published the book “I Want to Be Where the Normal People Are” in 2020.
