EXCLUSIVE: Wonder Street Entertainment’s Christine and Mark Holder have announced the creation of the Boise Film Festival, which will make its debut October 10-13. The film festival’s epicenter and all screenings will be held at Boise’s Egyptian Theater Screenings (700 West Main Street) and The Flix (646 West Fulton Street). The Call for Entries has begun with the Regular Deadline set for June 30.

Shrinking co-creator Brett Goldstein (Ted Lasso) is stepping in front of the camera in Season 2.

Ethan Shanfeld As “The Office” showrunner Greg Daniels looks to create a new series in the world of Dunder Mifflin, he’s tapped “Nathan for You” co-creator Michael Koman to help lead the project, sources tell Variety. Daniels and Koman would serve as co-creators of the prospective series, which has not yet been greenlit to series and is still in development at Universal Television. It is not a reboot of “The Office” but is set in the same universe, meaning it would likely be set in a different office setting with all new characters.

Walter Hill, who wrote and/or directed and produced such films as 48 Hrs., The Warriors, The Getaway and many more, will receive the WGA West‘s 2024 Laurel Award. He will be presented with the career achievement honor April 14 during the strike-delayed Writers Guild Awards‘ L.A. ceremony.

It’s competing against “Deadliest Catch,” “Life Below Zero,” “RuPaul’s Drag Race: Untucked,” and “Welcome To Wrexham.” When news broke during the airing of the show’s 10th season that castmates Tom Sandoval and Ariana Madix had split amid Sandoval’s ongoing affair with fellow co-star Raquel Leviss, cameras quickly began rolling to capture the fallout. The quarrel shifted the friendships of the Los Angeles-based “Vanderpump Rules” cast so much that Leviss took out a restraining order on her former best friend and co-star Scheana Shay for an alleged punching that took place when the affair was revealed.

Nick Vivarelli International Correspondent Emmy Award-winning director Adam Bernstein (“30 Rock,” “Fargo,” “Better Call Saul”) is set to helm new Prime Video Italy original “Costiera,” an English-language action drama set on Italy’s iconic Amalfi Coast. The high-end show is being co-produced by Amazon Studios and Luca Bernabei for Lux Vide, the prominent Italian company behind financial thriller “Devils” that is owned by Fremantle. Though production on “Costiera” is set to start on location this summer, the international cast is being kept under wraps. Under a highly innovative deal structure, Fremantle will handle global sales on “Costiera” in all territories outside of Italy, France, Spain and Portugal where Amazon is holding on to full exclusive rights.

An Indian-American director and producer, Shastry began her career at Vice News, where she produced its critically acclaimed coverage of Russia’s annexation of Crimea, and the subsequent war in Eastern Ukraine. Her work has been recognized with an Emmy, a Dupont, and a Peabody. Shastry produced Stacey Abrams’ “All In: The Fight For Democracy,” which detailed the history and legacy of voter suppression in the U.S. The film was shortlisted for an Academy Award, and was named Best Documentary by the Hollywood Critics Association, African-American Film Critics Association, and Alliance of Women Film Journalists.

Jem Aswad Senior Music Editor Tim Rice will be the 2023 recipient of the esteemed Johnny Mercer Award at the 52nd Annual Songwriters Hall of Fame Induction and Awards Dinner slated for Thursday, June 15, at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York City.   The Johnny Mercer Award is the highest honor bestowed by the Songwriters Hall of Fame and is reserved for a songwriter or songwriting team who has already been inducted in a prior year and whose body of work is of such high quality and impact that it upholds the gold standard set by the legendary Johnny Mercer. Tim Rice was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1999.  

American ex-child star Austin Majors tragically passed away in Los Angeles over the weekend - he was just 27. Celebrated for his portrayals of Theo Sipowicz in NYPD Blue (appearing in 48 episodes between 1999 and 2004) and Will Wright in the TV movie An Accidental Christmas, Austin also briefly graced the likes of ER, Desperate Housewives and How I Met Your Mother with his talent. According to TMZ, the actor was staying at a homeless housing facility at the time of his death, while it's believed that a fatal ingestion of fentanyl could be the cause.
