Elsa Keslassy International CorrespondentDirectors’ Fortnight, the sidebar running alongside the Cannes Film Festival, has unveiled a strong lineup for its 54th edition, which will be the last one for outgoing artistic director Paolo Moretti. The sidebar has landed a pair of movies from A24, Alex Garland’s Men” which will play in the Special Screening section, and “God’s Creatures,” a psychological thriller directed by Saela Davis and Anna Rose Holmer, the filmmaking duo who made their feature debut with the Sundance film “The Fits.” Set in an Irish fishing village, “God’s Creatures” stars Aisling Franciosi, Emily Watson and Paul Mescal.

The Bafta award nominations have been announced, with late comedian Sean Lock receiving a posthumous nomination. The comedy legend, who died from cancer last year, has received a nomination for Channel 4’s 8 Out Of 10 Cats Does Countdown, in the entertainment performance category.

Deadline reported.The British rock band made a plethora of appearances on “The Ed Sullivan Show” throughout the 1960s. In February 1964 alone, the Fab Four stopped by Sullivan’s eponymous variety show on three separate occasions.“Midas Man” is currently in production and will chronicle the life and rise to fame of Epstein.

Deadline previously reported was due to some of the Swedish director’s other work commitments getting in the way of the project. Production hopes to resume by the end of this month.

“Too Close” star Emily Watson has a personal relationship to the source material for the three-part psychological thriller, premiering Thursday (May 20) on AMC+.It’s based on the titular 2018 novel by Natalie Daniels, the pen name used by Clara Salaman — one of Watson’s oldest friends.“I’ve known her for pretty much 50 years. We were at school together,” the British-born Watson, 54, told The Post.
