Rihanna will receive the President’s Award — which recognizes special achievement and distinguished public service — at the 51st National Association for the Advancement of Colored People Image Awards on Feb. 22 in Pasadena, California.

Rihanna will receive this year’s NAACP President’s Award, the organization announced today (February 4). The award is given “in recognition of special achievement and distinguished public service.” Last year’s winner was JAY-Z; previous recipients include Ms. Lauryn Hill, Spike Lee, and John Legend.

The NAACP announced on Tuesday that Rihanna has been named as the recipient of the President’s Award, and she will receive the honor at the upcoming NAACP Image Awards. Past recipients include Jay-Z, Jesse Jackson, Lauryn Hill, Muhammad Ali, Colin Powell, and a few others.
