Hunters creator David Weil is defending the show following criticism from the Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial and State Museum. The Memorial expressed disappointment with the Amazon Prime drama for taking certain creative liberties with its depiction of the Holocaust and what happened in the World War II concentration camps, and specifically with Weil's decision to include a scene that featured a game of human chess.

The cast and producers of Hunters, Amazon's upcoming revenge thriller series, appeared at the Television Critics Association winter press tour on Tuesday to preview the hyper-stylized show about Nazi-hunters in 1977 New York City. Stars Al Pacino, Logan Lerman, and Jerrika Hinton and executive producers David Weil and Nikki Toscano talked about the show's superhero influences and contemporary resonance.

Amazon is kicking off 2020 by drumming up much-deserved excitement for its new conspiracy thriller, Hunters. The streaming service released a sexy new trailer Friday and revealed that the series, starring Al Pacino, will premiere Friday Feb. 21.
