Joe Otterson TV ReporterJohn Wirth has signed on as showrunner and executive producer of “Dark Winds” Season 2 at AMC.Wirth takes over the role from Vince Calandra, who was the showrunner of the first season of the series. The show was renewed for a second season in June shortly after it debuted.This marks Wirth’s return to AMC Networks, as he was previously the showrunner on the AMC series “Hell on Wheels” for four seasons and an executive producer on the Sundance TV series “Hap and Leonard.” His other credits include “Wu Assassins,” “Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles,” “Nash Bridges,” and “Picket Fences.”“We are thrilled to welcome John Wirth, someone we know well and have collaborated with so successfully on multiple shows – most notably ‘Hell on Wheels’ – to the ‘Dark Winds’ creative team,” said Dan McDermott, president of entertainment and AMC Studios for AMC Networks.

Selome Hailu Tatiana Maslany has been cast in “Invitation to a Bonfire,” AMC’s upcoming series from Rachel Caris Love inspired by the co-dependent marriage of Vladimir and Vera Nabokov. She will also executive produce the project, which is set to debut in 2023.Maslany’s casting was announced during AMC’s presentation at the 2022 Television Critics Association summer press tour.

Tatiana Maslany (She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, Orphan Black) will star and executive produce the upcoming series Invitation to a Bonfire based on the novel by Adrienne Celt of the same name.

Max Headroom, with original star Max Frewer set to reprise his role as “the first computer-generated TV presenter”.According to Deadline, Halt and Catch Fire co-creator Christopher Cantwell is writing the adaptation and is attached as showrunner, while the drama series will be produced by Elijah Wood and Daniel Noah’s SpectreVision and All3Media.Originally introduced in 1985 via the hour-long British cyberpunk movie Max Headroom: 20 Minutes Into The Future, Headroom was rumoured to be an AI creation, but was actually Frewer in heavy prosthetics, performing in front of a green screen to give the illusion of CGI.According to his creators, Max’s personality was meant to be a satirical exaggeration of the worst tendencies of television hosts in the 1980s, who aimed to appeal to youth culture despite not being a part of it.Following 20 Minutes Into The Future, Headroom went on to host his own music show (The Max Headroom Show) before starring in the ABC drama Max Headroom, which ran for two seasons before being cancelled in 1987.Headroom even had his own video game, created by developers Binary Design for the Sinclair ZX Spectrum before being ported to the Commodore 64, Amstrad, and Amiga consoles.Since then, Headroom has been parodied by Eminem in his video for ‘Rap God’, and Muse in their clip for ‘Dig Down’.

The pact is a good example of how TV has become so competitive that art of development is fielding Marvel-level interconnected storytelling universes involving multiple series and other content extensions, from gaming to podcasts to internet shorts.

The first season will consist of six episodes total, as will the second season. The show is based on the Leaphorn & Chee book series by Tony Hillerman.Set in 1971 on a remote outpost of the Navajo Nation near Monument Valley, the series follows Lieutenant Joe Leaphorn (Zahn McClarnon) of the Tribal Police as he is besieged by a series of seemingly unrelated crimes.

Breaking Bad spin-off following Better Call Saul.Dan McDermott, president of entertainment and AMC Studios at AMC Networks, shared his hopes that another show from creators Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould will come to fruition to expand the Breaking Bad universe.Speaking to Variety, McDermott said: “I can tell you that if I could do anything to encourage Vince and Peter to continue on in this universe, I would do it.“I think you’d have to ask them, but the door is always open and I long for the day my phone rings and Vince, Peter or our friends at Sony call to say, ‘Hey, I think we have another show set in this universe.’”Better Call Saul’s sixth and final season is set to conclude in August. It is described as a mid-life crisis tale set at Railton College in the Pennsylvania Rust Belt.

The first season, consisting of six episodes, is set to premiere on AMC and AMC+ in 2023. follows Maggie (Cohan) and Negan (Morgan) as they travel into a post-apocalyptic Manhattan long ago cut off from the mainland.
