There’s more star power on board for Guy Ritchie’s new war movie, The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, which announced new cast additions today before its principal photography starts Feb. 13.

A storm is coming back to movie theatres.

Brent Lang Executive Editor Briarcliff Entertainment has acquired domestic distribution rights to “Sweetwater,” a recently completed feature about Nat “Sweetwater” Clifton, the first African American to land an NBA contract. The drama is written and directed by Martín Guigui and stars newcomer Everett Osborne as Clifton. The ensemble includes veteran actors such as Kevin Pollak, Cary Elwes, Jeremy Piven, Richard Dreyfuss and Robert Ri’chard. There are also special appearances by Gary Clark Jr., Jim Caviezel and NBA champion Bobby Portis Jr.  The film follows Clifton (Osborn), who is the star attraction of the Harlem Globetrotters, led by owner/coach Abe Saperstein (Pollak). When New York Knicks executive Ned Irish (Elwes) and Knicks coach Joe Lapchick (Piven) decide it is time for the Knicks to integrate, with the support of NBA President Maurice Podoloff (Dreyfuss), they come together with the other team owners of the league to make history. Briarcliff will give the film a wide theatrical release on April 14, 2023. 

It has been 35 years since "The Princess Bride" first hit theaters. The highly anticipated film, which was first revealed by Variety last month, tells the story of the meteoric rise and catastrophic demise of the BlackBerry, and stars an ensemble cast including Jay Baruchel (“This Is the End”), Glenn Howerton (“It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia”) and Cary Elwes (“Mission: Impossible — Dead Reckoning”). The pic will detail the operations of BlackBerry’s Canadian parent company Research in Motion, which was one of the country’s most illustrious and well-known tech companies before it floundered in legal disputes and eventually lost its market advantage to competitors such as Apple and Samsung. At the heart of the story is the business relationship between co-founders Mike Lazaridis and Jim Balsillie.

Tom Cruise is living up to his action star reputation! In a video posted to YouTube on Monday, the 60-year-old actor is seen paragliding while apparently filming an upcoming installment in the franchise.In the video, which was posted by Christian Bamber of The Opinion Matters YouTube Channel, Cruise is seen filming the flick in the Lake District of the U.K.The clip starts by explaining how passersby noticed helicopters overheard before hearing through the grapevine that Cruise was in the area filming the movie. While initially unconfirmed, the man in the video believed the rumors to be true when he saw Cruise himself, and the actor happily waved at gathered fans.The video shows Cruise getting into a helicopter and heading up toward the mountains.

James Caan was remembered for his legendary body of work as tributes flooded social media Thursday following the death of the "Godfather" actor. Caan died Wednesday, according to his family. He was 82.  Caan's family released a statement announcing his death on Twitter.

A trailer for Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning – Part One—the seventh film in Paramount’s Mission: Impossible franchise—has apparently leaked to social media. It’s not clear how long the leaked trailer has been online, though it appears all links promoting it on Twitter have already been shut down for copyright infringement. The franchise’s studio Paramount did not immediately return Deadline’s request for comment.

Princess Bride actor Cary Elwes has been airlifted to the hospital after being bitten by a rattlesnake, according to reports. The 59 year old Britsh actor was said to be in his gardening at his Malibu home in California when the reptile struck. It is not known which part of his body was bitten.
