Director Bong Joon Ho won his first Oscar this year for Parasite, but fans of his work will know all about his film Snowpiercer.

Big day for the #Bonghive! Director Bong Joon Ho's Best Picture winner Parasite is now available to stream on Hulu as of Wednesday, April 8. Hulu will be the exclusive subscription streaming home of the South Korean smash, as part of distributor Neon's pact with the streaming service.

Parasite, the first-ever foreign-language film to win best picture at the Academy Awards, became a sensation on the global film scene. Some of the attention focused a spotlight on Darcy Paquet -- who translated the Korean lines seamlessly into English subtitles -- and Sharon Choi, the interpreter who smoothly communicated director Bong Joon Ho’s words. But another person worked very hard behind the scenes to contribute to the film's global success.

Accepting his award for original screenplay at this year’s Oscars, director Bong Joon Ho triumphantly declared,  “This is a very first Oscar to South Korea.” Little did he know that the second, third and fourth were swiftly coming his way on a night that saw “Parasite” make history.

Soon enough, the internet was flooded with congratulatory messages addressing director Bong Joon Ho and the team of Parasite. BTS joined social media users to congratulate Parasite for their historic win. 

“Parasite” made history as the first foreign language film to ever win the Academy Award for best picture, in addition to taking home three other awards for best director, best international feature film and best original screenplay. It earned South Korea its first Oscar nominations and wins ever.
