She shared the news with her fans on Instagram, posting a video of her opening the book in excitement.

Garth Brooks, who was the recipient of the Library of Congress’ Gershwin Prize for songwriting himself four years ago, is also among the cast, along with Annie Lennox, Maren Morris, Charlie Puth and Jacob Lusk of the group Gabriels. Billy Porter will host as well as perform.

It was part of Carlile’s friends and family concert, which saw her perform covers of some of the artists who have inspired her throughout her career and play with her friends in the industry.A highlight of the evening came towards the end of the 21-song setlist when Carlile brought out close friend and music icon Joni Mitchell for a surprise appearance, which came amid Mitchell’s general return to live performing following a nine-year hiatus.Here, the two shared stories of their memories about one another over the years including Mitchell calling Carlile “butch” for drinking straight out of a wine bottle, and Carlile recalling their spending time together in Canada (via Spin).

Mitchell was — as hoped — one of the guests at the “Brandi Carlile and Friends” show Saturday night at the Hollywood Bowl, singing her classics “Circle Game, “Ladies of the Canyon” and “Shine” along with the full cast of participants gathered around her.

Dave Stewart has announced a UK and European tour featuring Eurythmics‘ greatest hits.Entitled ‘Eurythmics Songbook: Sweet Dreams 40th Anniversary Tour’, this will see Stewart hit the road with an female band for a series of shows which will mark 40 years since the band’s breakthrough album ‘Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)’.It comes after Stewart previously played a one-off show at the London’s Royal Festival Hall in 2019 featuring the band’s greatest songs, with the blessing of Annie Lennox, who no longer tours.The new dates, which kick off off in Switzerland on November 7, also include two UK shows at the Sunderland Empire on November 10 and the London Palladium on November 17.The tour wraps up in the Netherlands on November 28. A British pop star has sadly died after being diagnosed with a brain tumour. 21-year-old singer and songwriter Faye Fantarrow from Sunderland died at home on Saturday. The promising young talent was being mentored by Eurythmics' Dave Stewart, who was helping her with her music.
