James Gunn has responded to rumours that Viola Davis might return to Superman: Legacy.The upcoming DC movie directed by Gunn will launch DC’s new film universe. It is set to be released on July 11, 2025, after fears that the SAG-AFTRA strikes could delay its release date.

Varmawill voice the show’s main protagonist, Bride of Frankenstein, a version of the classic horror character; Frank Grillo will play Rick Flag Sr., the father of Joel Kinnaman’s Rick Flag, Jr. from 2021’s “The Suicide Squad” (written and directed by Gunn); Harbour will voice Eric Frankenstein, a version of the classic monster and ostensible love interest for the Bride; Chao will voice Nina Mazursky, an amphibious scientist; Gunn will voice G.I. Robot, a military android; and Tudyk will voice Doctor Phosphorus, who is permanently radioactive (and often a Batman villain).

Star Wars, James Bond and The Suicide Squad actors have united for a new film, inspired by true events in Black history. The Woman King tells the story of an all-female unit of warriors called the Agojie, who were the protectors of the African Kingdom of Dahomey back in the 1800s. In the film, a new generation of warriors are led by General Nanisca as they train to fight against a force that want to destroy their very way of life itself: an invasion of Europeans looking to expand their territory overseas and colonise the world.

With this HBO Max series – which Gunn wrote and largely directed – the story zeroed in on John Cena’s murderous Peacemaker character as he was enlisted by a group of A.R.G.U.S.
