Tom Daley's husband Dustin Lance Black issues statement as he's cleared of assault

Tom Daley's husband, Dustin Lance Black, has issued a statement after being cleared of assault charges when his case was dismissed mid-trial at Westminster Magistrates’ Court. The claims made by a reality TV star that she was assaulted by Dustin, who married Olympic swimmer Tom Daley, 27, in 2017, were dismissed as inconsistent and not enough to secure a conviction. CCTV footage shown in Westminster Magistrates' Court today revealed Mr Black grappling with TV host Teddy Edwardes at Freedom Bar in London's Soho, while a former Love Island winner and Tom himself watched in shock. Dustin was alleged to have grabbed Teddy’s wrist “very hard” and spilled her drink over her.

For a sovereign so admired and respected, plans for a number of statues and memorials to the late Queen Elizabeth are not only to be welcomed, but expected. During her 70-year reign, high-profile buildings and projects were named in her honour, notable among them the London Underground’s Elizabeth Line and Elizabeth Tower, which houses the legendary “Big Ben” bell in Westminster. Since the Queen’s death last September, politicians have called for the construction of a major memorial in central London to mark her status as the country’s longest-serving monarch.

Phillip Schofield: Everything We Learned from ITV’s Bosses During Parliamentary Inquiry

K.J. Yossman On Wednesday morning, ITV boss Carolyn McCall appeared in front of a Parliamentary committee to be grilled over the network’s culture and duty of care in the wake of the Phillip Schofield scandal. Schofield, a long-time anchor on ITV’s flagship daytime show “This Morning,” resigned last month in ignominy shortly before admitting to an affair with a young male runner on the show while he was married (Schofield has two adult daughters with his wife, Stephanie). Some have questioned the intensity of the coverage, which has unsurprisingly taken a mental toll on both Schofield and his former lover, especially since the affair was, in the anchor’s own words, “unwise but not illegal.” But there are a number of elements – not least the runner’s age – that catalyzed the media tsunami that now threatens to take down not only Schofield but his former co-host Holly Willoughby as well as various network executives including McCall.
