Chris Willman Senior Music Writer and Chief Music Critic Singer-actor Janelle Monáe will be bringing her “Age of Pleasure” principle to North American theaters and amphitheaters this late summer and fall, with a nearly two-month tour that begins Aug. 30 in Seattle and wraps Oct. 18 at the L.A. area’s YouTube Theater. The Live Nation-backed 26-city tour will follow a couple of months on the heels of Monáe’s first album in five years, “The Age of Pleasure,” which comes out June 9. It’s been preceded by a new single and music video, “Lipstick Lover.” A Verizon presale begins Thursday at 10 a.m. local time, with other targeted presales happening throughout the next week before a general ticket sale one week from today, June 7, also at 10 a.m. local time.

He added that she had been sober for 18 months before a recent relapse.

Heather Armstrong, once considered “The Queen of Mommy Blogging," and known for her motherhood blog Dooce, a nickname of hers, has died. The late "mommy blogger" was 47. The news was first shared on her Instagram page on May 10, with a photo of the late influencer looking up at an ornate, yellow ceiling.

Pat Saperstein Deputy Editor Heather Brooke Armstrong, the writer known as “Dooce” who gained popularity in the early days of blogging, died Tuesday. She was 47. Her family announced her death in an Instagram post on Wednesday. Her boyfriend, Pete Ashdown, told the Associated Press she died by suicide. “She had a relapse recently and that’s what really spiraled her down. She was sober for over 18 months, then started to sneak back into it. And then in the last month she went full tilt,” Ashdown told AP. No cause of death was given. A fluid and personal writer, she had long described her struggles with severe depression and alcoholism. She had more recently been criticized for promoting anti-trans sentiments on her blog dooce.com.

50 Cent has announced “The Final Lap Tour,” an international summer/fall event celebrating the 20th anniversary of his groundbreaking debut album, Get Rich or Die Tryin’. It will consist of a North American summer leg and a European fall run, with Busta Rhymes in support on every stop of the tour and Jeremih scheduled to join for all of the North American dates.

Jem Aswad Senior Music Editor Veteran rapper, actor and entrepreneur Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson has announced dates for a global tour in celebration of the 20th Anniversary of his galvanizing debut album, “Get Rich or Die Tryin’.” Produced by Live Nation and presented by Sire Spirits, The Final Lap Tour will make stops across North America and Europe including Toronto, Brooklyn, Atlanta, Houston, Amsterdam, Oslo, Paris, and many more. Additional markets are expected to be announced soon.  Busta Rhymes will support on all dates, and Jeremih will support on all North American dates. According to the announcement, the “Final Lap Tour” “will feature the rap icon performing dozens of fan-favorite and chart-topping hits along with select tracks that have not been performed live in decades. Plus, the tour will feature support from special guest and longtime friend,  with more special guests to be announced. 

Naman Ramachandran The Sundance Film Festival: London 2023 will close with the U.K. premiere of Nicole Holofcener’s “You Hurt My Feelings.” The comedy-drama is set in Brooklyn and stars Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Tobias Menzies as a couple whose marriage is thrown into turmoil when she overhears his honest reaction to her latest book. As previously announced, the festival will open with the U.K. premiere of “Scrapper,” written and directed by Londoner Charlotte Regan, starring Harris Dickinson and newcomers Lola Campbell and Alin Uzun. It follows the story of a young man trying to make a life for himself in the aftermath of his father’s death.

King Krule has announced an extensive tour in support of his upcoming album ‘Space Heavy’.The artist’s new album is due out on June 9 and is set to explore “the space between” two locations he considers home, London and Liverpool.To support the album, King Krule will be playing shows in the UK, Europe and North America. The artist – real name Archy Marshall – has already announced a string of release shows in London, Bristol, Liverpool and Kingston.
