Project Runway‘s 19th season will have their work cut out for them as the first to compete in the wake of the pandemic, charged with helping “revitalize the fashion industry.”In the season premiere, airing Thursday, Oct. 14, at 9 p.m., the aspiring designers are instructed not merely to make it work, in the immortal words of the show’s former mentor Tim Gunn, but to do more: the bolder, the better.“The time is now for bold, bright, don’t-hold-back, in-your-face color,” they’re told.

is back! The second season of the fashion design competition series is set to launch on July 16 on Prime Video with the release of two new episodes each week. Heidi Klum and Tim Gunn return as co-hosts with new judges, fashion designer Jeremy Scott and model Winnie Harlow. Ten established designers compete to become the next big global fashion brand and for the grand prize of $1 million and to create a collection exclusively for Amazon Fashion.

Amazon Prime Video’s fashion competition “Making the Cut” is set to return with its second season, and in advance of the premiere the 10 designers who’ll be competing for the show’s million-dollar grand prize have been announced.

UPDATE: Making The Cut, hosted by Tim Gunn and Heidi Klum, returns to Amazon for season two July 16 with a lineup of 10 designers vying for the top prize. Amazon also revealed that Insecure and Queen & Slim designer Shiona Turini and Prabal Gurung will guest judge season two looks, joining judges Jeremy Scott and supermodel Winnie Harlow.

The winner walked away with the grand prize of $1 million, a one-year mentorship with Amazon Fashion and a collection sold exclusively on Amazon.

The fashion show must go on?

There was a lot riding on Making the Cut. When Amazon announced they were going into business with Heidi Klum and Tim Gunn, the dream team who helped make Project Runway sing for years, first on Bravo and then on Lifetime, it seemed as though that would be the end of PR.

The final two episodes of “Making the Cut” drop on Amazon Prime Video this Friday but not without some drama.

R&B singer Andra Day performed her inspirational anthem “Rise Up,” former One Direction member Niall Horan thanked health care workers and teachers, and pop star Kesha played piano while singing positive lyrics to kick off an all-star event aimed at fighting the coronavirus pandemic.

For those of y'all who have no idea what I'm talking about (and hello, welcome), Making the Cut is a fashion competition hosted by Heidi Klum and Tim Gunn. And if the first thing that comes to your mind is Project Runway, a) same, and b) if you're a Project Runway fan, I'd bet money that you'll also like Making the Cut.

While the rest of Hollywood is shuttering its doors and trying to figure out when their projects can get back off the ground, TLC is pulling a Tim Gunn and making this s**t work.

“Making The Cut” contestant Ji Won Choi,a recent Parsons grad, is on a mission to merge her Korean and American heritages through fashion. She’s one of the younger designers on Amazon Prime’s new reality series, though Choi has already started to reaped the benefits by having one of her designs from the show sold on Amazon.
