Texas’ Sharleen Spiteri has thanked Glastonbury’s Emily Eavis for being a “massive supporter of female musicians” during the band’s performance on the Pyramid Stage.The Glaswegian group took to the stage on Friday afternoon (June 23) to perform a career-spanning set. Towards the end of their one hour slot, Spiteri praised Eavis.“Not because she’s ticking a fucking box to put us on these stages, she’s putting us on these stages because she thinks we’re fucking amazing,” Spiteri told the audience.

Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl dedicated the last song of the band’s surprise set on Glastonbury’s Pyramid stage to their late drummer Taylor Hawkins. The US rock band stormed through a number of hit songs during the hour-long performance – their first time at the world-famous festival since 2017.There had been high speculation that the Foo Fighters would take to the main stage on Friday from 6.15pm in a slot which was billed under the name The Churnups. An hour before the slot, the band posted a photo of flags within the festival crowd, one with the phrase Churn It Up brandished across it, and tagged the post #Glastonbury2023.

Foo Fighters have released ‘The Teacher’, the final single from their upcoming 11th album ‘But Here We Are’.The 10-minute-long track is the longest song the band have ever recorded, and sees Dave Grohl begin with an understated guitar intro, and ultimately build up to blaze of audio overload. The Foo Fighters have revealed that they have a new drummer joining the band, a year after Taylor Hawkins’ death. Josh Freese, who has been performing with the band at tribute concerts in memory of Taylor, has previously played drums for The Offspring, Sting, Paramore, Lana Del Rey, Rob Zombie, Bruce Springsteen, A Perfect Circle, Guns N’ Roses, Nine Inch Nails, the Vandals and Weezer, among others. Foo Fighters debuted their new track ‘Nothing At All’ in a livestream yesterday (May 21).The livestream, titled Foo Fighters: Preparing Music For Concerts, was recorded at the band’s 606 studios in Northridge, California. It featured debut performances of songs from their forthcoming album, as well as behind-the-scenes footage of the recording.The band played an eight-song set during their rehearsal, which was shot in black and white.
