Family Guy actor Mike Henry is stepping down from voicing the African-American character of Cleveland Brown to make way for a person of colour.Henry, who is white, originated the role back when the hit cartoon debuted in 1999, and also brought Brown to life on the spin-off series, The Cleveland Show, which ended after a four-season run in 2013. However, Henry has since announced he will no longer voice the part of Brown in the long-running Seth MacFarlane sitcom.

The acclaimed actor made the announcement after reprising his role as the loveable germaphobe from the hit series “Monk” on the first installment of Seth MacFarlane’s “Peacock Presents At-Home Variety Show.” The daily web-exclusive seeks to raise money for charities Americares, Feeding America and the United Way.
The very first At-Home Variety Show on Peacock featured the return of one of the most famous TV characters: Monk. Hosted by Seth MacFarlane, the new short-form series features talent from across the NBCUniversal family doing their best to entertain masses and raise awareness and support for Feeding America, Americares and United Way.

Last night, an animated version of The Weeknd guest-starred on Seth McFarlane's American Dad. But instead of just making his debut as a cartoon, the singer actually co-wrote the episode along with Asa Taccone, a producer who co-wrote and co-produced Portugal. The Man’s “Feel It, Still”. During the episode, Weeknd premiered a new song titled "I'm a Virgin," which is framed as a confession from his character.
